Student Highly Commended at Better World Awards
Philip Thomas from the 2013 cohort of the NoWNANO DTC was highly commended at the University of Manchester's Better World Awards on February 8th, 2016 for his work as part of the CDT's outreach programme. The Faculty of EPS is committed to recognising the excellent social responsibility work carried out by staff and students which makes the World Work Better With Us.
Philip, who is the CDT's 2015/16 Student Outreach Representative, has developed nanoscience-themed talks aimed at secondary school students. He has presented these talks at schools in the Greater Manchester area with incredibly positive responses from both staff and students. At the awards ceremony, which celebrated the achievements of staff and students in the area of social responsibility, Philip was recognised for his efforts with an "Outstanding student led public engagement activity" prize.
